Congratulations HPL ~ for a job WELL DONE!
These 21 library locations had a reduction in their energy usage in 2008 comparatively with their records from 2007. Visit our HPL intranet web page for more details of the 4th quarter contest results and information concerning our energy initiative.
From the beginning of our energy conservation campaign, May 1, 2008, until now the closing celebration, HPL staffers system wide have supported our efforts to reduce our electrical consumption and it has worked. Thank you!
Each winning location will receive an HPL Certificate of Award personally signed by Dr. Rhea Brown Lawson, Director of the Houston Public Library and Wendy Heger; Assistant Director for Planning & Facilities. Subsequently, each staff member at these winning locations will receive a thank-you gift. A commemorative three star award will be given to the library locations who have been winners for all three quarters. The three star award locations are; Acres Homes, Carnegie, Collier, Kendall, Kashmere Gardens, Lakewood, Montrose, Oak Forest, Walter and Young.
Your continued compliance with the HPL Internal Energy Initiative by practicing simple acts of conservation is encouraged. If there are any questions concerning this initiative, please ask any HPL Energy Conservation Committee Member: Gwen Walter, Jason Stephens, Mark Morrow, Karrington Burnett, Pedro Mosquera, George Metcalf and Don Duran.
