halan.sirsi.net

To be more blunt than Fred, if you are not logged in to the system properly, any work that you do on that computer is not recorded in the active database.  That means that anything that was checked out or returned or put in transit or placed on hold or discarded or made missing when using that terminal is not reflected in the live system and customers are getting overdue notices when items have been returned or books are showing on the shelf when they are not.

If you discover that a terminal is logged in to the test server (identified by the word “test” as part of the IP address), please alert the IT Helpdesk immediately.  HALAN staff can manually go into the test server and try to find that data and copy it over to the live server.

Thanks for your cooperation,
Syma

Hello all.

This is just a reminder to everyone to make sure that the IP Address in the Configuration box is set to halan.sirsi.net every time you log in to do business.
Must be halan.sirsi.net

If you find that the setting has been changed to something else, simply type halan.sirsi.net into the IP Address box, and click OK.  That will change the setting back to what it needs to be.

If you not already in the habit of checking this setting every time you log in, please make that a part of your regular routine.  As always, if you have any difficulty or concerns with these instructions, please feel free to contact the Circulation Administration Department at 832-393-2222 (option 3) or at circinfo@hpl.lib.tx.us.  You may also contact the HALAN Help Desk for assistance.

Thanks, and have a great day.
