Good afternoon,
FIDS drivers and my team have been seeing a steady increase
in the number of bins/boxes/bundles coming through Delivery that have been very
difficult to identify as incoming floats due to the inconsistent ways they are
being labeled. With the high volume of material being moving through
system on a daily basis, items with unclear destinations slow the workflow
down.
Materials being sent in from Neighborhood Libraries to the
Float Team for floating should always use the green FLOAT labels, which are
available from the Supply Room as a stock item, and address them to LMS on the
“TO:” line. It should not be necessary to create your own labels or
resort to using post-it notes, which fall off very easily.
Affix the green labels securely to your bins and boxes, or
rubber band them to tops of bundles if your shipments are small (but please
don’t add tape over rubber bands).
Managers - Please share this reminder with all members of
your NL teams, as not everyone is on this email list.
Thank you,
~Sara
