Young NL Staff
Meeting
9:30 am, Tuesday, 2/16/2016
1.
Entering
the front doors when library is closed
a. If
you enter the library through the front doors while the library is closed, make
sure that another staff member is already in the building to avoid setting off
the alarm (the staff office door should be opened as a signal, or you can call
the private line 3-2145).
b. After
unlocking the front door, make sure to turn your key all the way to the left
until it clicks to lock it again. Jiggle to the handle to confirm that it is
locked.
2.
Closing
procedures, door locking
a. When
locking the front door during closing procedures, reach outside to jiggle both
handles to make sure the doors are locked from the outside. Then close the doors
and push on them to ensure they are locked from the inside.
b. If
you are not sure if the doors are locked, ask another staff member to come
check with you, so they can let you back in the building after confirming that
the doors are locked.
c. If
you are unsure of the difference between when the outside handles are locked or
unlocked, see Dominick.
d. If
the doors are not properly secured due to a mechanical issue, follow the
Sprocket procedures for reporting the unsecured door. The after-hours number
should be called, and 2 staff members should remain on site until the problem
is fixed.
3.
Supply
Orders
a. Nuvia
has taken on the role of submitting and tracking supply orders for Young NL. If
you notice an item that needs to be ordered, tell her AND email her so she can
place the order.
b. When
supplies come in through delivery, set them aside in the staff work area and
inform Nuvia that they have arrived. She will process the incoming supplies to
make sure they match up with what was ordered.
c.
(This
was a recap from Friday’s staff meeting, that we also discussed on Tuesday)
4.
Sprockets/Work
Orders
a. Thank
you all for diligently following the instructions from our recent staff
training on submitting sprockets and other work orders!
b. The
USB power bank in the server room is giving off a continuous beep and there is
a red light signaling an error. This was reported to the IT Help Desk on
Monday, 2/15.
c. The
fire alarm seems to be malfunctioning. Monique submitted a sprocket for this on
Saturday, 2/13.
